A letter from the Manager who visited the opharnage
A VISIT TO CREATION OF HOPE CHILDREN’S HOME:
Giving back to the society is one of the most vital and appreciative things that companies do, this creates good interactions with the people in our communities regardless of their clan, tribe, race, colour and social status.
It all started on in the Morning of 19th July, 2014 AGSC Company chose a few staff to pay a visit to the children’s home in Ukambani Mbooni Makueni County by the name of HOPE CHILDREN’S HOME. The group comprised of Mr. Vincent Kamanyi our Finance & Accounts Manager from the head office, Mr. Vincent Ouma our Operations manager at JKIA, Miss Jemai Mary operations manager from Mombasa branch and a few staff from JKIA airport general security department at total of ten staff.
On arrival at the orphanage we found the guardians and their children already assembled and ready for the occasion. The warm welcome acknowledged from them as well as the project Manager of the orphanage Mrs. Kyatha gave us a feel at home atmosphere with complete fun. Fortunately our visit coincided with the birthday festivity of a few of the children from the orphanage. They were given presents and cakes as its always symbolic in such kind of celebrations.
Further more, it was of great opportunity to meet up with a few of the people who are of direct aid or assistance to the health, development and education to the children at the home, this included a mother and son from Canada who are sponsors of three children from the orphanage, the regional chairman, the coordinator, the church leaders and the manager Hope Children’s Home among others.
It was a food distribution day on this identical day and we were not left out, our staff played an immense role in distributing snacks and drinks to the visitors, the children and their guardians and everyone was extremely happy having portrayed awfully good image of our company. There was singing and dancing and each one despite of gender, age and even social status/class joined in the singing with complete joy, this made the children forget their pain, sorrows and felt loved despite losing their loved ones. It was pleasant representing a cheque of Ksh. 30,000; this was to help her in the day today running of the children’s home. We had a cake presented in honor of AGSC staff.
After the celebrations we all joined the children and their guardians, ate meals together then ended with a word of prayer and finally back.
